Why This Works
This trauma-informed relational & somatic coaching addresses the fundamental need for safe and secure connection while also addressing the roots of why we feel the way we do and how to get the life we want. Hope uses an approach that is both cognitive and somatic so that you can not only talk through what it is that you want support around in a tolerable way, but also begin to experience some relief and resolution from chronic symptoms (disregulation) that are present in your nervous system (i.e. sense of doom or "being in trouble", panic, shallow breathing, racing thoughts, sense of "running out of time", heaviness, chronic tension, trouble feeling present/zoning out, "crashing out", etc.)

In sessions you'll experience techniques from the following:

Somatic Experiencing: Especially when we find ourselves thinking, "why can't I get over this?", this approach will help us work with how the body holds onto our past experiences and how to help it feel relief and resolution for the symptoms those experiences create. For additional information on the SE approach, read here: https://traumahealing.org/se-101/

Attachment Theory: This addresses how we show up relationally and how to start building more secure relationships with ourselves and others. For additional information on Attachment theory, read here: https://traumasolutions.com/attachment-theory

Polyvagal Theory: When we learn how our internal self-protective system works (the autonomic nervous system), we begin to feel more in control of our reactions and experience of life. For additional information on Polyvagal theory, read here: https://www.polyvagalinstitute.org/whatispolyvagaltheory
Internal Family Systems (Parts Work): This is an incredibly helpful approach for when we notice feeling contradictory about a certain topic or in a particular situation or area of our life. For additional information on the IFS approach, read here: https://ifs-institute.com/
